REMEMBERED

A time of sadness in remembering one lost so long ago.
A time to rejoice, a closing, the family needs to know
Returning home from ages past in time that's overdue
And we look back upon this land, a land that He once knew

This land of ours so proud and free, a land He gave to you and me
In thoughtful prayer, I reflect on this, alone on bended knee
The country called and he replied to keep us free and strong
And now we lay him in a grave denied to him so long

His life was lost one nameless day on some forgotten hill
And if you cared to look that way, youhing still
He kept his watch for all those years in dark and light of day
We've brought him home, to rest at last, in peace he now will lay

We kept our vigil while he was gone and waited his return
We never ceased to look for him nor did we loose concern
And though he now will lie in peace and family now at rest
Still others wait that we must find so continue with our quest

We won't forget or let them down when long they have been gone
Forever will we look for them and bring them home at dawn
So rest in peace my brother mine, your fight was not in vane
We honor you for what you did and now we ease our pain
